Hi, my name is Devon, and I’m a food & fitness blogger.
I’m a pretty typical mid-twenties, married Southern gal. I love running, baking, wine, Target, chocolate, my dogs, and most of all, my husband. I live in Jacksonville, Fla, and I spent my days at a desk yapping about Insurance. I believe Sundays should be spent going to brunch and drinking mimosas after a long run. College football is a way of life, so Saturdays in the fall always revolve around the Florida State game. I find pleasure in “lightening” up my favorite family recipes, and I think we’d all go crazy if we didn’t indulge ourselves every once in awhile. I enjoy a good challenge. I run because for a long time, I didn’t think I could. My mantra during long runs is “You are tough. You can do this.”
My health & fitness journey began summer 2008 when Brandon and I got engaged. At this time, I started the Couch-to-5k program. I had always wanted to run, but could never get past a few minutes at a time. I worked out sporadically throughout college and crash dieted quite a bit. My weight fluctuated from 135lbs to about 150lbs during my senior year:
Through diet and my new love of running, I slimmed down to 132lbs and a size 6 in time for the wedding:
And in November 2009, I ran my first half-marathon:
