The Intoxicating Smell of Cookies

8 May

Confession:  I may or may not have been a little intoxicated when I posted last night.  Whoops.

Today has been one of those days where if something can get complicated, it WILL get complicated.  We spent 2 hours at the bank doing something that should’ve taken 5 minutes.  Then I took my mom to get a new phone for Mother’s Day.  She changed her mind about 15 times, then finally went with the first one she picked.  Its been a long day.

But at least it started with a croissant with almond butter and a banana:

And right now, there’s two batches of cookies sitting in the kitchen:

Mmm.  I love when my house smells like fresh-baked cookies.

Speaking of houses, I got ridiculously excited about this today:

We have a mailbox!  Yay!

Flowers Two Days In A Row

23 Mar

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know I was not pleased with 1-800-Flowers yesterday.

For our anniversary, Hubby ordered some flowers for me from their website.  They never showed up.  Being the awesome husband that he is, he stopped by the store on the way home and surprised me with these beauties:

He’s such a good man 🙂

We decided not to give gifts for our anniversary, since we’re trying to save money for the house.  Although I came up with this before we got married, I couldn’t resist giving him a “paper” gift:

Goofy? Yes, but he totally loved it!  We lounged around like lazy slugs last night and sipped on some red wine.

This morning, I made some scrambled egg whites and Morningstar Farms “sausage” for breakfast:

And around 10 am, I was surprised with the MIA flowers!

They’re GORGEOUS, but I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to them 😦 My nose has had that tickle feeling inside it since they arrived 😦

And I discovered these babies at Starbucks during lunch:

130 calorie cookies that actually taste good and are somewhat healthy? I’ll take ’em!

Tomorrow is my second weigh-in for Weight Watchers.  I’m anxious to see if/how much I’ve lost.  I definitely feel a difference in the way my clothes fit and its nice not to feel like as much of a cow.
